Hilary is an independent journalist who founded Front Door Politics in Fall 2008. Trained in Documentary Studies, Hilary has worked for over six years in media ranging from local newspapers to public radio. As Program Director, Hilary helped to found Portsmouth Community Radio in 2004. She went on to establish the Editorial Board and serve as Personnel Director at the station. Hilary’s own audio work has been featured on the NPR Station Spotlight and broadcast nationwide on the daily news and culture program “Here and Now.”

Formerly the political and editorial page editor of the Portsmouth Herald, Michael has covered state and federal elections, the State House and the economy during more than two decades working as a journalist. He was the Herald’s lead political writer, columnist and blogger for the 2008 presidential campaign and has received New Hampshire and New England press association awards for columnist of the year, feature and historical writing, and investigative reporting. He was also the news editor of the weekly Goffstown News and Merrimack-Bedford Bulletin. He has been published in more than 30 newspapers, magazines and journals, including New Hampshire Business Review, Boston Globe, Globe Sunday Magazine, Boston Herald, Stars and Stripes European Edition, Keene Sentinel, Nashua Telegraph, Union Leader, and New Hampshire Magazine. He is a graduate of Keene State College and a U.S. Army veteran.
